If AI is unavailable on your self-hosted instance, [configure an AI provider](https://openpo.st/docs/self-hosting/ai) first. ## Generate text 1. Add **AI text** and write the **User message**. 2. Optionally add a **System message** for tone or output instructions. 3. Pass its text output to a later step. The **Write a draft with AI** recipe connects generation to draft creation and review. **AI draft** uses your configured AI Builder to create the post. ## Choose a branch Write the criteria in **AI decision**. Jev returns a probability between 0 and 1. The Yes path runs at 0.5 or above; otherwise the No path runs. It returns no written explanation. [Test the node](https://openpo.st/docs/workflows/testing) against inputs you would accept and reject. Preview decisions are examples. Keep review before scheduling because real decisions can be wrong. ## Check usage Expand an AI step in **Runs** to see tokens and provider-reported cost. Node tests make real AI calls and count toward usage; previews do not. There is no workflow spending cap. Missing cost does not mean a call was free. Check a few runs before enabling frequent triggers.
