Formats and limits

## Different formats, different rules.

OpenPost checks the text and media rules for the format you choose.

| Format | Text | Media |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Short | Required title; up to 5,000 description characters | Exactly one short video |
| Video | Required title; up to 5,000 description characters | Exactly one video, up to the long-video profile limit |

### Provider limits and scope

- 5,000 description characters
- Exactly one video
- Title required
- Unaudited Google projects can force uploads private

Connect and test

## Set up YouTube in three checks.

1. Enable YouTube Data API v3 and configure the Google OAuth app and callback URI.
1. Request the required profile, channel-read, and upload scopes.
1. Choose a channel during connection and test a real video upload.

Known limits

## What can still block a post.

- Test the Google project with a live channel before you use it for real posts.
- Unaudited Google projects can force uploads to private visibility.
- Each account version accepts one video. OpenPost does not support text-only YouTube posts.

**Account requirement:** A Google Cloud OAuth app with YouTube Data API v3 and an eligible YouTube channel.

**Verification:** Confirm upload, processing completion, thumbnail, playlist, and final privacy on the production channel.

## Use the current callback address, permissions, and media setup.

Social network developer pages change. The OpenPost guide lists the settings and checks you need now.
