Analytics

Understand account growth and content performance using the data your providers return.

Use Analytics to find posts worth building on, compare account performance, and inspect the results of posts published through OpenPost. Web and mobile use the same stored measurements and calculations.

Turn on collection for an account

  1. Open Settings → Workspace → Social accounts and select an account.
  2. Enable Analytics if the account supports it. If the option is unavailable, check the permissions and explanation shown beside it.
  3. Open Analytics and allow the first collection to finish. Check the last successful update before using the figures.

Disabling Analytics stops future collection for that account. It keeps the history already saved and does not disconnect the account.

Compare the right posts

Choose an account and date range, including Month to date, Last month, or custom dates. Content totals describe posts published in that period and their saved lifetime results. Daily charts show changes in stored measurements. Follower counts describe the whole account.

The Posts count is the number of distinct OpenPost posts. A post published to three accounts contributes one post and three destination outputs.

Visibility selects one supported exposure measurement per output: post impressions where available, otherwise content or video views. YouTube contributes video views. YouTube thumbnail impressions do not contribute. Open the data-details icon to see which provider measurements contributed and which outputs are missing data. Visibility includes repeats; it does not count unique people or prove that someone read or watched the complete post.

Read each measurement's label. Views, impressions, and reach mean different things, and providers do not all return them. A blank measurement is not zero. If the page shows a coverage notice, the account may be newly connected, lack permission, or have only part of its provider history available.

Open a content row or insight to see the posts behind it. Compare similar formats over similar periods before deciding that a topic or time worked better.

Compare accounts and posts

Use the shared account selector to choose one or more accounts, or apply a Social Set. All accounts clears the selection. The same selection applies to totals, charts, rankings, audience, and the initial export settings.

Account performance compares measured visibility, engagement, followers, and publishing activity. Select an account to inspect it. Top posts uses the complete filtered population, including results beyond the loaded page, and shows each distinct post once.

Export your analytics

Choose Export to download the data behind the page for the selected date range. The account filter starts with the accounts selected on the page.

  • Format. CSV opens in any spreadsheet or script. Excel includes every table plus charts. JSON is for tools.
  • Timezone. Publish times and day, week, and month groups use the timezone you choose. Daily trend rows always use UTC calendar days, like the charts.
  • Group rows by. Keep one row per post, or total the results by day, week, month, platform, or account.
  • Table. For CSV and JSON, choose the grouped report, posts, daily trends, or accounts. Excel always contains all of them.
  • Accounts. Select accounts by their avatar, platform, and handle, including multiple accounts on the same platform. Choose All accounts to remove the account filter. Your selection applies to every table.
  • Post metric columns. Choose the metric columns for the report and posts tables. Leave the selection empty to include every measured metric across the full range. Daily trends and accounts keep their own columns.

Visibility is available in post and grouped exports when measured. Daily exports include Visibility changes alongside the original Views column. Original provider views and impressions remain available separately.

Totals grouped by date, platform, or account sum lifetime counters. Provider averages and reporting-period measurements remain available in the posts table, but stay blank in grouped reports because they cannot be summed by publication date. Per-post values retain their stored integer units, including milliseconds for durations and basis points for percentages.

A blank cell means the measurement is missing or cannot be aggregated for that report. It is not zero. Scripts with api:read access can use GET /analytics/export. Pass comma-separated account_ids to select accounts, and platforms to limit platforms. See the API reference.

Update or investigate missing data

OpenPost collects results in the background, more often for new posts than old ones. Refresh data requests another collection. It may still wait for a provider limit or retry delay.

If data is missing:

  • Check that Analytics is enabled for the selected account.
  • Inspect its connection status and reconnect if a required permission expired.
  • Check the last update and coverage notice before comparing totals.
  • Wait until a temporary provider limit expires, then retry the refresh.

A provider may revise its numbers after publication. The latest saved result can therefore differ from an earlier report or the provider's live interface.

Make another post from a result

Choose Repurpose on a content item. OpenPost opens a new, unsaved composer and asks you to review the direction before requesting AI-generated copy. Check the idea, destination accounts, and final text before saving or publishing.

On mobile, Repurpose in web app continues in the browser and restores the source Workspace. You may need to sign in there. The browser resolves the source through your current permissions; the link contains source identifiers rather than post content or credentials.

To check whether a post arrived, open it in Publications and inspect each destination. To investigate a delivery error, open the post and use the delivery troubleshooting guide.
